Pumpkin Carving!

Finished product first! And we are all smiling!! Yeay!!
Trying to get three to smile...at least the pumpkins are cooperating!

They were totally in to cleaning out the pumpkins. They got right into it and dug out all the stuff. Jacob said, it felt cold and slimy.

Getting all the goop out!
Nathan said that he thought it was like "skettie." I was so impressed with how much work they actually accomplished. The pumpkins turned out great! We had a lot of fun doing it together.

What Sarah does while we are skating.
He's on his feet all by himself! We are so proud. They don't really help the kids so they must learn to get up themselves. He kept trying and trying and trying! Yeay, for Nathan!

Jacob working on harder skills.

Apple Orchard

The kids had their first field trip and it was to an apple orchard. They got to cut up apples and pour very yummy Cinnamon honey on the pieces. They peeled a different kind of apple and tasted that. We also got to taste some apple butter. They learned about friends and foes of the orchard. They also got to go see an old press that made apple cider at one time. It was a fun trip!

Stuff Coming!

Okay, I have to catch up on my blogging. I have some events with pictures to blog about. So when I download the pictures I will catch up.

So come back and I will have some posts up later tonight.

Fall Pictures

Laurel Creek where we went to take them
The boys of course found "light sabers!"
Sarah fell asleep. We did get a group shot but I am want to play with it a bit. So just a little sample today of what we did on the weekend after church! Pretty Maple Tree in the back. I wanted to have more of the beautiful fall colors in the picture with us but that was challenging to find. Unless you didn't mind houses in the background as well. But I think we managed to get some good pictures.

What are you feeding me????

We started bananas. You can see how the first bite went.
But a second try wasn't quite as bad as the first!
Maybe this fruit stuff isn't so bad after all!
She continues to be interested in food. But her tongue is always in the way!
She puts her tongue out instead of just opening up her mouth.

Indiana Jones!

Nathan was given an early birthday present from Nannie. He's been asking for an Indiana Jones whip FOREVER and finally asked the right person! Nannie can't just buy something for one so Jacob got a whip too!. They loved it. Nathan had other secret reasons for wanting the whip which will be revealed through pictures at the end of the month!!:) It was hard to capture but they had a few Indiana Jones moves to show us. Nathan loves Indiana Jones! We had two very happy boys.

If you look closely they have two of my purses and they found some hats that to make their outfits complete!

Thanksgiving Weekend! Part One

Can you believe the date and where are we?
Yes, At the beach in our shorts! The kids even swam in the water.

Sarah had a dip too!

Another cool thing was being able to DRIVE on the beach right up to your spot! How cool is that!

Another fun adventure together! We did both say the day would have been perfect if our camping friends had been there with us. Jacob and Nathan kept asking if we were camping with any of their friends from Calgary.

So this thanksgiving, I am thankful for our friends, and thankful I get to see them and family soon! Tonight we have guests staying over and tomorrow a few more are arriving for dinner and a visit. We are thankful for them too! We are very blessed! I wish you all a happy thanksgiving!

Auntie Joy, Sarah will be missing out on her first taste of your sweet potatoes! It is tradition! All my kids have had their first taste there. I may have to call you to find out how it is made.

Friends

Jacob has a friend! I know it seems silly to make a big deal about that but I can't help it. I am excited for him. I decided to let the kids play at the park today before rushing home after school today. While I was there, a Mom came over and introduced herself and wanted to set up a play date. I guess her child has been talking a lot about his new friend Jacob. Yeah! I guess I should be letting the kids play after school a little more often. Gives one a chance to chat up the other parents. In the mornings everyone is in more of a rush.

One problem with the play date, Nathan and this little boy are in the same class. Nathan says he is his friend too. Could be interesting. Nathan does talk about another little boy, so I will have to introduce myself and hopefully set up a play date there.

Yesterday we went to see a pediatrician who IS accepting new patients. Well she weighed them all and measured them. Sarah now weighs 14 lbs 1 oz. She is 24 inches long. She also got her 6 month shots a week early. I wasn't prepared for that! Poor girl. She didn't tell me Sarah's percentile, but I looked it up and for weight she is just above the 10 percentile. I think according to the chart for length Sarah is in the 5th percentile? Could that be right? A little shorty on my hands.

Jacob is in the 70th and I think she said that Nathan was in the 90th percentile for height. Shocker there.:)

Jacob has been in to colouring lately. He has just spent the last hour colouring. Nathan is playing quietly beside him and Sarah is sleeping. Life is good when it goes like this.

Well that is it for today. I am hoping to take some fall pictures of the family this weekend. I am awe struck with all the beautiful red leaves out here. If I get some good ones I will post them.
